Presse Interns Heart Big Necklaces…

October 14, 2008

While I am traditionally more of an ‘earring girl’, the necklaces this season are seriously making me reconsider my jewelry choices.  It all started with my obsession with Marni’s chunky and architectural pieces a year ago. They are the perfect balance of playful colors and artful sophistication. But, oh dear, the necklace craze has only intensified. I’m currently coveting Vera Wang’s hot pink multi-colored glass necklace here at Presse.  And naturally, after the necklace was featured in Vogue my fixation on these bold collar-like necklaces was solidified. Upon attending Vera Wang’s Spring/Summer 2009 fashion show, I am aching for the oversized chain-link crystalline necklaces to come to market. Pair one of these statement-making necklaces with a simple t-shirt and jeans and you strike the perfect balance of effortless chic!

High Five!

July 18, 2008

We want to congratulate our bestie, Juan Carlos Obando, for becoming a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist this week! He is in great company with some of our other loves, Vena Cava and Richard Chai, and a great friend of mine, Irene Neuwirth. JC not only designed this website, mapped out Presse Pass, our in-house magazine, created a ridiculous store window for our launch party (complete with $50,000 worth of on-loan Vera Wang gowns), but serves as both a creative and business sounding board. Whether we are ordering in Mao’s Kitchen late-night at the store, pow-wowing about web development at his Century City office (he is a Creative Director by day!) or getting a Photo Shop lesson (that would be for me), the convo always turns to ridiculous fashion-chatter like, “if you could wear only one designer for the rest of your life, who would it be?” (I had too much wine to remember anyone’s other than Renee’s, which is Stella!) BRAVO, JC, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to leech on to you for the ride!
